Jonelyn Luna celebrated her 2006 birthday in awesome fashion with a steamboat party at her house. What is a steamboat party you ask? Well, I'd never been to one either but there's a lot of raw seafood & vegies involved where you put 'em in how steaming broth held in numerous pots & pans, then count to 60 or have a nice leisurely chat about sai's special sauce & voila... your meal is cooked ready for happy ingestion!
This event was a total blast! The steam from all the boiling broth was steaming up the place & the atmosphere was fun with lots of folk walking around cooking or eating or preparing. All this was done with a viewing of hot chick & 2fast2furious. Then the karaoke kicked in. As did the poker... with the professional set.
Let me start at the beginning... once we got there, firstly, I lost all my kids as they rushed off to play with Julian, Jayde, Jelly or Rocky according to their age group compatibility. Javen & Rocks quickly settled into a couch chatting wow, Kaenon & Julian & other kids their age commandeered the computer or x-box, the girls played around with whatever girls play with, & the smaller boys found many things to keep themselves occupied. I no complain.
Mark makes a special mention as being one of the things that occupied my smaller boys. They somehow managed to use him as a kind of trampoline slash springboard where they took a running start from the kitchen to crash into him at the end of a couch... I swear I tried to pull 'em off his tired carcass at the end but it's a wonder he survived the ordeal.
I just wish I took more photos of the event... but the organisers were just too organised & had stuff cleaned up before I could take some snaps of the happy event. Tis hard to take pictures while you knee deep enjoying the food & manner of serving style, you know.
But even without pics, the night was so much of a fun time, that we couldn't get out of the house until well past midnight. By then, the poker house had many participants playing... some winning, some losing... but it was dang awesome to see professional equipment played at a house party.
& the singing... yesh... the singing! Thank the stars that Mrs Burchmore provided some angelic music in contrast to the male croonings (shall we say) provided by myself, & Mr Burchmore & Mr Edwards. I gotta love that karaoke machine cuz it plays different style backgrounds accompanying the music, right... now the birthday celebrant added the spice to the event by putting on this background visuals of these bikini clad women strutting their stuff... imagine having to watch that while singing "endless love"... it was a little easier to watch them folk while singing "I want it that way"... & I still recall jocelyn running around pointing to one of the bikini women admiring her derriere... definitely provided memorable moments.
I particularly enjoyed the filo song "pizza pie"...
In celebrating Jonelyn's birthday, we sang her a double rendition of Happy Birthday in English & Filo & distributed yummy rich tasting chocoloate cake at the conclusion of party time.
Thanks for the experience! Luckily, we broke even at poker. I woulda been happier had we won... but hey. Happy Birthday, Jonelyn!
